In compliance with the request order survey from
Messrs., PT. Batamindo Shipping & Warehousing, reference to their email
message the assigned Marine Surveyor Indonesia, did attend at PT. Sumber Alam
Prima Makmur Premises in order to carry out a “CARGO DAMAGE SURVEY” on the
alleged damaged 1x40' APRU 6119858 STC: 1872 Cartons of Fresh Grapes “RED
GLOBE” ex M/V ANL BURILLA voyage 060N.
§ Fresh
Grapes with mark “RED GLOBE“ ex Australia packed in cartons with average counts
10 kgs each.
§ The container contain with 1,872 (One Thousand Eight Hundred And Seventy
Two) cartons of Fresh Grapes “Red Globe” were stuffed into 1 x 40 FT. HC.
Reefer Container No. APRU 6119858 and shipped onboard the vessel, M.V. “ANL
BURILLA” Voyage 060N at Adelaide, Australia and bound for Indonesia.
§ Inspection limited to retained 1,838 cartons box and another 34 cartons
box distributed to retailer prior our attendance.
§ Inspection
of Fresh Grapes “Red Globe” were conducted and noted that the Fresh Grapes were
discoloration of berries, hairline cracks on berry surface skin and rotten.
§ Based
on our findings at the time and place of inspection, we are of the opinion that
the damage to the consignment was due to preshipment nature and disorder as
mentioned above due to diseases.

Survey was
carried out at the consignee’s warehouse, PT. Sumber
Alam Prima Makmur, Jl. Engku Putri No. 19 Batam Centre,
Batam Island – Indonesia.
Based on the obtained
information from the personnel of PT. Sumber Alam Prima Makmur, we noted as
follows :
Some day on February 2012
the container No. APRU 6119858 was discharged from MV. ANL BURILLA to the
container yard of Singapore Container Terminal, and then the container loading
to Bg. Batamindo 1 departed from Singapore to Batu Ampar, Batam – Indonesia. On
February 2012, the container departed from Batu Ampar container yard to the
consignee’s warehouse. On some day in March 2012 at 01.00 hours LT the
container arrived at the warehouse of PT. Sumber Alam Prima Makmur, Batam
Centre, Batam – Indonesia, and direct continue to un-stuffing the cargoes from the
container at the warehouse of PT. Sumber Alam Prima Makmur, Batam Centre, Batam
– Indonesia. When we present the survey was conduct and the inspection limited
to retained 1,838 cartons box and another 34 cartons box distributed to
retailer prior our attendance.
Having perused the available documents and information
received, we were given to know that the cargo was shipped on board MV. ANL
BURILLA in Adelaide Port, Australia.
The cargo was kept in the container APRU 6119858, from the commencement of shipping at loading port up to
unloading at PT. Sumber Alam Prima Makmur, Batam
Centre, Batam – Indonesia, for about 17 days with temperature – 1 º Celsius.
The container contain with
1,872 ( Two Thousand One Hundred And Thirty Two) cartons of Fresh Grapes “ Red
Globe”were stuffed into 1 x 40 FT. HC. Reefer Container No. APRU 6119858 and
shipped onboard the vessel, M.V. “ANL BURILLA” Voyage 060N at Adelaide, Australia
and bound for Indonesia.

§ Based
on the abovementioned observation, we noted that the Fresh Grapes were Discoloration
of berries, Hairline cracks on berry surface skin due to summer bunch rot
associated disorder and rotten due to old produces/aging.
§ Based
on our findings at the time and place of inspection, we are of the opinion that
the damage to the consignment was due to preshipment nature and disorder as
mentioned above due to diseases.
§ To
determine other causes should be check temperature history during trip.
§ Container
based on the cargo outturn, pulp temperature taken, supply and return air
suggested that the container was in good order and condition during transit.
